Illinois American Water - is the water service provider throughout the City. 

Greater Peoria Sanitary District - is a special unit of local government and was formed in 1927 to collect and clean the domestic and industrial wastewater within GPSD's service area.

Illinois American Water Service Meter Changes

Illinois American Water is proactively reaching out to customers to perform required indoor meter changes. To help ensure the accuracy of our water meters, we must periodically change or test them. Illinois American Water is regulated by the Illinois Commerce Commission (ICC), which requires each meter (indoor or outdoor) to be periodically inspected or tested in accordance with the following administrative code for public utilities Section 600.340.

Draft Environmental Assessment Available for Sanitary Sewer Installation

The City of Peoria and the Greater Peoria Sanitary District have entered into an inter-government agreement for the construction of sanitary sewers in the high-growth areas in northwest Peoria. In order to utilize Federal grant money, the project must be reviewed for potential environmental impacts. See below for more information.

Call JULIE Before You Dig

Before starting any project that requires any depth of excavation in Peoria, call JULIE to have your underground utility lines marked at no cost. To avoid personal injury and damage to utilities and property, Illinois law requires anyone planning to start a digging project to call the Joint Utility Locating Information for Excavators. 

The free service will take the information on the project and distribute it to the various organizations responsible for each utility. JULIE can also inform homeowners about utility location markings on their property.
