Trash
Need to look up your collection day?
Visit the Trash Collection Schedule Map and enter your address.
Where do I put my cart and when?
Your trash cart will be emptied every week. Trash may be set out as early as 3 pm the day before pickup but must be out by 6 am on your scheduled pickup day to avoid missing a collection. Regular collection service begins at 6 am and ends at 7 pm.
On your collection day, set the trash cart at the curb or wherever your trash cart has been designated to be picked up.
- Ensure your cart lid is closed, the lid opening facing the street, and your cart is positioned three feet away from any other carts.
- Do not put needles, hazardous waste, yard, or electronic waste inside your cart.
- Be sure the cart is not blocked by cars, snow, or mailboxes and is at least three feet away from other carts.
After pickup, move the trash cart from the curb or alley within 24 hours. Place them in your garage or alongside your house or garage. They cannot be in the front or back of your house or block sidewalks or alleyways.
Missed Pickup?
If it hits 7 pm on your collection day and your material was missed, submit a missed pickup report. Leave your cart and materials at the curb until it gets collected by GFL (regular collection hours are 6 am – 7 pm). The submittal allows our solid waste group to track missed collections and work with GFL to get your material collected. Please note, that you are responsible for your trash until it gets picked up. Make sure it is properly secured to avoid littering.

Bulky Waste Collection
Bulky waste is defined as items too large to fit inside your trash cart such as furniture, mattresses, building materials and other oversized items. If you have bulky waste, you may call GFL at 309-688-0760 to let them know your address, but you are not required to. GFL will pick-up your bulky waste regardless of prior notice. Then, simply place these items next to your cart (with three feet of separation) at your curb or alley on your scheduled pickup day. No loose items will be collected.
Note: If it can be placed in a bag, bag it. Bulky items do not include electronics or tires.
