Illinois American Water Company Water service is provided throughout the City by Illinois American Water Company.
Greater Peoria Sanitary District The Greater Peoria Sanitary District, a special unit of local government, was formed in 1927 to collect and clean the domestic and industrial wastewater within GPSD's service area.
Ameren Illinois is the local delivery service provider of electricity for Peoria residents. Your Ameren bill includes charges for the electricity delivery rate and the electric supply rate. Prior to May 31, 2022, the City contracted with Homefield Energy as the supplier. Due to the extreme high energy market pricing, no alternative supplier offered the City a price lower than the Ameren supply rate. As of June1, 2022, the energy supply was the new Ameren rate (unless you opted for an alternate supplier).
The aggregation program will remain dormant for one year, which is the next time the City can go to the market to negotiate for lower power prices from an alternative energy supplier per State law. Should the City enter a supply contract in 2023, all current Ameren supply customers will automatically go onto the aggregate pricing (unless you opt-out).
