(PEORIA, IL) Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at approximately 7:42 p.m. members of the Peoria Police Department’s Special Investigations Division (SID) executed a search warrant on a residence in the 3300 block of Overbrook Drive for the illegal sale of drugs.
During the course of the investigation, officers observed an adult male exit the residence, get into a vehicle and drive away.
Officers then conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and detained the passenger identified as 32-year-old Nicholas J. Beckman. During a search of Beckman officers located cannabis inside a backpack in his possession.
During a search of the residence officers located illegal drugs, drug packaging, drug equipment, a handgun, and currency.
Beckman was subsequently arrested for Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, Armed Violence, Unlawful Delivery of a Controlled Substance/Unlawful Possession with Intent to Deliver, and Unlawful Possession of Cannabis.
He was transported to the Peoria County Jail.
