(PEORIA, IL) Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at approximately 8:00 p.m. Peoria Police observed an adult male urinating outside a business in the 600 block of S. Western.
When officers attempted to approach the male identified as 33-year-old Jerkarris S. Brown, he immediately began to walk away.
As
officers attempted to stop Brown, they observed him to be armed with a handgun.
Brown ignored officer commands and resisted arrest, but officers were able to disarm Brown and take him into custody.
Brown was subsequently arrested for Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon, Possession of a Firearm without a Valid FOID Card, Aggravated Battery, Aggravated Domestic Battery, Resisting Police, Public Indecency, Armed Violence, Possession of a Firearm Projectile, Unlawful Possession of Cannabis, Unlawful Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Deliver, and Unlawful Possession of Firearm Ammunition without a FOID Card.
Brown was transported to the Peoria County Jail.
