(PEORIA, IL) Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at approximately 7:36 p.m. members of the Peoria Police Department’s Special Investigations Division (SID) observed a wanted male enter the backseat of a vehicle in the 2000 block of W. Marquette and drive away.
Officers conducted a stop on the vehicle in the 1200 block of NE Madison and made contact with the occupants inside.
Officers detained the occupants and conducted a search of the vehicle. During the search, police located three handguns inside.
Officers transported two males identified as 32-year-old Christopher L. Brown and 23-year-old Jacoby J. Erving to the Peoria Police Department for interviewing purposes.
Brown was subsequently arrested for Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon (2 counts), Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Possession of a Firearm without a Valid FOID Card, Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine, Armed Violence, and
two Active Warrants.
Erving was arrested for Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon, Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm without a Valid FOID Card.
Both males were transported to the Peoria County Jail.
