(PEORIA, IL) Monday, September 30, 2024, at approximately 4:30 a.m. Peoria Police were dispatched to the 2100 block of S. Oregon Street regarding a person stabbed.
When officers arrived, they located an adult female with an apparent stab wound to her left side. The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police canvassed the area and located a crime scene at the above address.
During the course of this investigation officers made contact with an adult male matching the description of the suspect. The male identified as 37-year-old Michael J. Childs resisted officers as they attempted to take him into custody.
Childs was apprehended without further incident and subsequently arrested for Aggravated Domestic Battery and Resisting Police.
He was transported to the Peoria County Jail.
