March 27 event will feature panelists and partner agencies
February 19, 2025 (PEORIA, IL) The city of Peoria, in collaboration with the Peoria NAACP, the Minority Business Development Center, the Illinois State Black Chamber of Commerce, and the Greater Peoria Chamber of Commerce, will host the Equity in Procurement Expo on Thursday, March 27, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the Peoria Civic Center, Room 400.
Now in its second year, this event provides valuable opportunities for business owners, entrepreneurs, and construction professionals to gain insights into the government procurement process, register with the city’s Minority and Women-Owned Business Registry, and connect with other agencies and financial institutions. Light refreshments will be served.
Representatives from over 20 agencies, including Peoria County, CityLink, Peoria Park District, Greater Peoria Sanitary District, and more will be on hand to answer questions, provide resources, and provide insight on growing businesses.

- Finance & Banking
- Partnering with Prime Contractors
- Trades & Effective Bidding
Mayor Ali stated, “This is a wonderful opportunity for minority business owners to learn more about the government procurement process and opportunities to do business with the city and other government entities. This event aims to foster diversity, increase economic empowerment, and grow local businesses within our community.”
