(PEORIA, IL) Friday, April 4, 2025, at approximately 4:27 p.m., Peoria Police attempted to stop a vehicle connected to a recent hit and run to a pedestrian (25-5530).
The vehicle immediately fled away at a high rate of speed. Police did not pursue.
A short time later officers located the vehicle parked at a residence in the 3400 block of Richwoods Blvd.
During the course of this investigation, officers approached the residence and made contact with the driver identified as 22-year-old Devontay L. Pruitt.
Pruitt was taken into custody and arrested for Fleeing Police, Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle, Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Suspended Registration, Theft, and an Active Warrant.
Pruitt was transported to the Peoria County Jail.
