(PEORIA, IL) Monday, April 28, 2025, at approximately 9:45 a.m., Peoria Police were dispatched to the 2800 block of W. Fremont on a report of a Residential Burglary.
When officers arrived, they observed a broken window at the back of the residence.
While conducting a check of the property, police heard a noise coming from inside the residence. Officers then observed an adult male identified as 54-year-old William B. Lear jump out of a window and flee the area on foot.
After a brief foot chase, Lear was apprehended by police and taken into custody without further incident.
During the foot chase, police observed Lear discard a bag he was carrying. The bag contained stolen items from the residence.
Lear was arrested for Residential Burglary, Criminal Damage to Property, Resisting Police, and Obstructing an Officer.
He was transported to the Peoria County Jail.
