(PEORIA, IL) Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at approximately 5:49 a.m. Peoria Police were dispatched to the 800 block of S. Western Avenue on a report of a Garbage Truck Driver being robbed at gunpoint.
When officers arrived, they located the adult male victim, who told police a male suspect approached the garbage truck and pulled him out at gunpoint. The suspect began to physically assault the victim after robbing him of his wallet.
The suspect then fled the scene on foot.
The victim suffered minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Police conducted a search for the suspect in the area where the attack occurred with negative results.
Peoria Detectives are seeking assistance from the community regarding this incident.
