(PEORIA, IL) Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at approximately 11:23 p.m., members of the Peoria Police Department’s Special Investigations Division (SID) and Street Crimes Unit (SCU) conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle connected to a wanted subject at the intersection of William Kumpf and RB Garrett.
During the stop, officers observed the wanted male, identified as 19-year-old Kamarion L. Collins, in the rear passenger seat of the vehicle.
Collins was removed from the backseat and taken into custody without incident.
Collins had a backpack with him that contained a loaded handgun with an extended magazine inside. The handgun was reported stolen.
Collins was arrested for Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, No FOID Card, Possession of a Handgun Under 21, Possession of a Stolen Firearm, and 4 Active Warrants.
He was transported to the Peoria County Jail.
