[ARCHIVED] Aggravated Battery with a Firearm

(PEORIA, IL) On Saturday, July 19, 2025, at approximately 11:29 p.m., Peoria Police were dispatched to the area of Renwood and Gilbert regarding reports of shots fired.
When officers arrived, they did not locate any victims or suspects. Shell casings were found in the 3000 block of N. Sterling and the 3000 block of N. Renwood.
A short time later, police were informed that a 24-year-old male had been transported to a local hospital by private vehicle with multiple gunshot wounds. The victim told police he was shot by an unknown male whom he had arranged to meet to sell a pair of shoes. Following a struggle during the transaction, the victim was shot, and the suspect fled the scene on foot. The victim is listed in stable condition.
Members of the Peoria Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division (CID), Crime Scene Unit (CSU), and Patrol Unit responded to the scene where the shots were fired and initiated an investigation.
This investigation remains ongoing.
