(PEORIA, IL) On Saturday, August 2, 2025, at approximately 1:39 p.m., Peoria Police officers were dispatched to the 500 block of W. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive in response to a report of a disturbance involving a male subject.
While officers were en route, dispatch informed them that the individual was reportedly armed with a shotgun and had discharged the weapon inside the residence. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
Upon arrival, officers learned that the male subject had been involved in a verbal altercation. During the incident, the subject reportedly dropped the firearm, causing it to discharge. No one was struck or injured by the gunfire.
A search of the area was conducted; however, the suspect was not located.
