(PEORIA, IL) On Saturday, August 2, 2025, at approximately 2:29 a.m., Peoria Police responded to the 3200 block of SW Adams Street following a report of an armed robbery at a local business.
Upon arrival, officers made contact with a 21-year-old male victim who reported that an unknown male entered the BP Gas Station, displayed a handgun, and demanded money from the register. The victim complied, and the suspect fled the scene. No injuries were reported.
During the course of the investigation, officers identified and located the suspect’s vehicle traveling eastbound on Grinnell Avenue from Griswold Street. A traffic stop was conducted, and the suspect, identified as 26-year-old Sergio Delgado-Rodriquez, was taken into custody without incident.
A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of a handgun and currency consistent with the amount stolen from the business.
Delgado-Rodriquez was arrested for the following offenses:
• Armed Robbery
• Possession of a Firearm
• No Valid FOID
• Aggravated Unlawful Possession of a Weapon
He was transported to the Peoria County Jail.
