(PEORIA, IL) On Friday, August 8, 2025, at approximately 10:25 a.m., Peoria Police responded to the 700 block of S. Warren after a Shot Spotter alert indicated nine rounds were fired.
Officers located a 68-year-old male who reported he had been shot at while standing outside the residence. No injuries were reported.
During the investigation, officers identified 33-year-old Kyle T. Smith as the suspect. Smith admitted to firing the shots to scare the victim.
Smith was arrested for Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm, Aggravated Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, and Possession of a Firearm Without a Valid FOID Card. He was transported to the Peoria County Jail.
