(PEORIA, IL) On Saturday, August 16, 2025, at approximately 8:45 p.m., Peoria Police were dispatched to the 600 block of RB Garrett on a report of a person shot.
When officers arrived, they located a 39-year-old male with a gunshot wound to his leg. The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Preliminary information indicates the victim was approached by two unknown males who attempted to rob him before he was shot. The suspects then fled the area on foot.
Members of the Peoria Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division (CID), Crime Scene Unit (CSU), and Patrol Unit responded to the scene and initiated an investigation.
Currently, there is no suspect information available. This incident is under investigation.
