(PEORIA, IL) On Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at approximately 1:41 p.m., Peoria Police officers were dispatched to the 800 block of S. Griswold following a ShotSpotter alert of eight rounds fired.
Upon arrival, officers located a 15-year-old female suffering from a graze wound. The juvenile was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Due to the proximity of the incident, Manual High School was placed on a hard lockdown. The school had already scheduled an early dismissal at the time of the incident.
Members of the Peoria Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division (CID), Special Investigations Division (SID), Crime Scene Unit (CSU), Neighborhood Services Unit (NSU), and Patrol Unit responded to the scene. An active investigation is underway.
At this time, no information is available regarding the suspect.
