(PEORIA, IL) Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at approximately 9:47 p.m., Peoria Police were dispatched to the intersection of E. Frye Avenue and N. Wisconsin Avenue regarding a report of a person struck by a vehicle.
When officers arrived, they located a 22-year-old male lying on the sidewalk. The victim was immediately transported to a local hospital in stable condition.
A short time later, police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle matching the description of the one involved in the incident near Nebraska Avenue and Peoria Avenue.
Officers approached the vehicle and made contact with the driver, identified as 21-year-old Kayana M. Polk.
Polk was subsequently arrested for Aggravated Battery with a Motor Vehicle, Hit and Run, Reckless Driving, and Failure to Report a Personal Injury Crash.
She was transported to the Peoria County Jail.
