(PEORIA, IL) On Sunday, September 28, 2025, at approximately 11:50 a.m., Peoria Police officers were dispatched to the 600 block of S. Shelley Street on a report of an armed robbery that had just occurred.
Upon arrival, officers spoke with an adult male employee of the Daily Food Mart who reported that an armed suspect entered the business, displayed a handgun, and demanded money. The employee complied, and the suspect fled the store on foot. No injuries were reported.
Multiple officers converged on the area to search for the suspect. A short time later, a deputy with the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office located the suspect, identified as 26-year-old Pablo B. Sanchez, in the 1900 block of W. Wiswall Avenue.
During a search of the suspect’s flight path, officers recovered a loaded firearm. Sanchez was taken into custody without incident and arrested for the following offenses:
• Armed Robbery
• Defacing a Firearm
• Possession of a Firearm
• Possession of a Firearm without a Valid FOID Card
• Obstructing an Officer
• Resisting Police
Sanchez was transported to the Peoria County Jail.
