(PEORIA, IL) On Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at approximately 12:59 a.m., Peoria Police officers responded to a business in the 2900 block of SW Washington Street (Joe’s Towing) on a report of a male attempting to unlawfully enter the secured lot.
Upon arrival, officers learned the suspect had fled the scene on foot. After a brief foot pursuit, officers apprehended the suspect, identified as 23-year-old Aureliano Hernandez, in the 3400 block of SW Washington Street.
While officers attempted to take Hernandez into custody, he actively resisted arrest. Following a brief struggle, Hernandez was safely restrained and taken into custody.
Hernandez was arrested for Aggravated Battery, Criminal Trespass, and Resisting Police. He was transported to the Peoria County Jail.
