(PEORIA, IL) On Thursday, October 30, 2025, at approximately 11:30 p.m., Peoria Police responded to the 2600 block of N. Prospect regarding a report of a recently stolen vehicle.
Approximately 30 minutes later, officers located the stolen vehicle traveling near Latrobe and Folkers. When officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop, the driver fled at a high rate of speed. In accordance with department policy, officers did not pursue.
A short time later, deputies with the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office located the vehicle abandoned in the 2300 block of S. Oregon after it had crashed into a power pole.
A drone was deployed to search the surrounding area for the suspect(s); however, the search was unsuccessful.
At this time, there is no suspect information available. This incident remains under investigation.
