[ARCHIVED] Aggravated Battery

On Friday, October 31, 2025, at approximately 3:46 a.m., Peoria Police responded to an 8-round ShotSpotter alert in the 800 block of W. Hurlburt.

While en route to the scene, officers observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed pull into a local hospital. Inside the vehicle, officers located a 23-year-old male suffering from a head injury. The victim had been struck multiple times in the head with a firearm. His injuries were determined to be non-life-threatening.

A passenger in the vehicle reported that a group of males had approached their vehicle and opened the door. One of the males, who was armed, struck the victim several times with a firearm. The driver then placed the vehicle in reverse and fled the area, at which time the suspect fired multiple shots at the vehicle.

Officers conducted a search of the area for the suspect, which yielded negative results.

This incident remains under investigation.
