Nov. 29, 2025 (Peoria, IL) Snow began around midnight last night and has continued steadily into this morning, as forecasted. Accumulations remain light so far, but snowfall is expected to intensify later this morning and into the afternoon.
The City’s main arterial roads are drivable and passable. However, motorists should continue to use caution, as many neighborhood streets remain snow-covered, and slick spots are present throughout the City. Please allow for extra stopping distance, reduce your speed, and give yourself additional time to reach your destination.
Overnight, Public Works crews pretreated streets and began plowing as the snow arrived. Crews remain on 12-hour, around-the-clock shifts and will continue to focus on primary roads and emergency snow routes. Plowing operations will adjust as the storm evolves and snowfall rates increase.
Heavier snow is still anticipated later today. Major road impacts are possible as heavier snowfall bursts arrive throughout the area. Residents should still avoid unnecessary travel and adjust travel plans as needed.
Drive slow, stay safe, and have a great morning!
