The Department of Public Works reminds residents that several road construction and infrastructure improvement projects are still ongoing, and with them come the need to follow all traffic control measures.
Barricades, barrels, cones, and other traffic control devices are in place to protect both motorists and the crews working on-site. These devices help guide drivers safely through changing traffic patterns, lane reductions, or temporary closures. Public Works is urging residents not to move or relocate any traffic control devices.
Unauthorized movement or removal of traffic control devices can lead to vehicle crashes, create hazardous conditions, or delay construction progress.
Drivers are encouraged to remain alert, follow all posted signage, and reduce speeds when approaching or traveling through work zones.
Residents with questions about active projects or winter work schedules can contact Public Works at (309)-494-8800.
