The Department of Public Works is monitoring an approaching winter system forecasted to move into the area around midnight on Saturday, Dec. 6, and last through approximately 9 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 7. Current forecasts project 1 to 2 inches of snow, with light accumulation expected through the early morning hours.
Public Works crews will be on hand and ready Saturday night as the system arrives. Staff will monitor conditions throughout the event and respond as needed to maintain safe travel on City streets.
Drivers should expect potentially slick roads overnight and during the morning hours on Sunday. Public Works encourages residents to exercise caution, reduce their speed, and allow for extra travel time.
As a reminder, residential plowing will occur after at least 2 inches of snow have accumulated, once arterial streets have been cleared, and snowfall has ended.
Snowfall updates will be provided as needed. Public Works urges residents to remain alert to changing road conditions and to drive safely during this next forecasted round of winter weather.
