(PEORIA, IL) On Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at approximately 1:29 a.m., Peoria Police officers attempted to make contact with a male subject walking in the 2700 block of West Krause Street.
Officers instructed the subject, later identified as 18-year-old Anthony J. Greer, to stop. Greer refused to comply and fled on foot. After a brief foot pursuit, officers apprehended Greer a short distance away.
During a subsequent search of Greer, officers located a loaded Glock 17 handgun equipped with an auto sear switch. The firearm was later determined to be reported stolen.
As a result of the investigation, Greer was arrested for Possession of a Machine Gun, Possession of a Stolen Firearm, Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Possession of a Handgun Under the Age of 21, Possession of a Handgun Without a Valid FOID Card, Possession of Ammunition Under the Age of 21, Possession of Ammunition Without a FOID Card, and Obstructing/Resisting a Peace Officer.
Greer was transported to the Peoria County Jail.
