(PEORIA, IL) Friday, August 25, 2023, at approximately 2:14 a.m. Peoria Police officers observed a male removing parts from a vehicle in the 3000 block of W. Montana Street. The vehicle was reported stolen from Morton.
Officers immediately approached the suspect, identified as 54-year-old William J. Thompson, and placed him into custody without incident.
Thompson was found to have burglary tools in his possession and was subsequently arrested for Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, Theft of Parts and Accessories, and Possession of Burglary Tools.
Thompson was transported to the Peoria County Jail.
