(PEORIA, IL) Monday, December 11, 2023, at approximately 4:51 a.m. Peoria Police located an abandoned stolen motor vehicle in the 700 block of N. Duryea.
Officers immediately searched the area and with the assistance of a PPD Drone were able to locate the two male juvenile suspects (14 & 16 years old) in the 1600 block of Fredonia. One of the juveniles was armed with a handgun.
Both
juveniles were detained and taken into custody without further incident.
The 16-year-old male was arrested for Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, Criminal Damage to Property, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Resisting, Possession of a Weapon Under 21, and Possession of a Firearm without a FOID.
The 14-year-old male was arrested for Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, Criminal Damage to Property, and Possession of Burglary Tools.
Both juveniles were transported to the Juvenile Detention Center.
