Saturday, March 23, 2024, at approximately 12:50 a.m. Peoria Police conducted a vehicle stop in the 400 block of SW Washington for a traffic violation.
Officers approached the vehicle and made contact with the driver identified as 53-year-old Gregory A. Rucker.
During the stop, police were advised that Rucker had an active warrant. Rucker was immediately detained by officers.
While conducting a search of Rucker’s vehicle officers located a firearm, illegal drugs, and currency inside. A large amount of currency was also located on Rucker’s person.
Rucker was subsequently arrested for Armed Violence, Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon, Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver, and several traffic violations.
Rucker was transported to the Peoria County Jail.
