(PEORIA, IL) Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at approximately 8:31 p.m. Peoria Police responded to the 1100 block of W. Gift on a Shot Spotter alert of 19 rounds fired.
When officers arrived, they did not locate any victims. While conducting a search of the area, police did locate an adult female with an apparent gunshot wound in the 1000 block of W. Virginia. The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening
injuries.
Members of the Peoria Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division (CID), Crime Scene Unit (CSU), and Patrol Unit responded to the scene and initiated an investigation.
There is no suspect information at this time. This incident is currently under investigation.
