(PEORIA, IL) Thursday, May 16, 2024, at approximately 10:05 p.m. officers with The Peoria Police Department’s Special Investigations Division conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle violation in the 1700 block of N. Sheridan.
When the vehicle stopped a passenger immediately exited and fled on foot. After a brief foot chase the subject, identified as 23-year-old Clifford M. Ivory, was taken into custody.
During a search of the subject’s flight path officers, with assistance from a K9, located discarded drugs, drug packaging, and a handgun. The handgun was reported stolen out
of another jurisdiction.
Ivory was subsequently arrested for Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon, Resisting Police, Armed Violence, Possession of a Stolen Firearm, and Unlawful Possession of Firearm Ammunition without a FOID
Card.
Ivory was transported to the Peoria County Jail.
