(PEORIA, IL) Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at approximately 5:13 p.m. members of the Peoria Police Department’s Special Investigations Division (SID) located a stolen vehicle unoccupied in the 2400 block of N. Gale Avenue.
During the course of this investigation, officers observed a male subject identified as 26-year-old Miqueal M. Walker enter the vehicle and drive
away.
Police observed the vehicle come to a stop at a business in the 3300 block of N. Sterling. Walker then exited the vehicle and walked into the store.
As officers entered the business Walker attempted to flee on foot. Officers pursued Walker and he was eventually taken into custody without further incident.
Walker was transported to the Peoria Police Department for interviewing purposes and subsequently arrested for Unlawful Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle, Obstructing an Officer, and Resisting Police.
Walker was transported to the Peoria County Jail.
