(PEORIA, IL) Monday, June 10, 2024, at approximately 2:46 a.m. Peoria Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 400 block of SW Jefferson.
During the stop officers made contact with two adult males and a female juvenile inside the vehicle. Police then developed probable cause to search the vehicle and all three occupants were detained while officers conducted their search.
During a search of the driver, identified as 18-year-old JeSean S. Williams, police located a loaded handgun on his person. The weapon was reported stolen.
Williams was taken into custody without incident and subsequently arrested for Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Possession of a Stolen Firearm, Possession of a Firearm without a Valid FOID Card, Unlawful Possession of Firearm Ammunition without a FOID Card, and Unlawful Possession of a Handgun.
He was transported to the Peoria County Jail.
