Beginning at noon on Thursday, July 4, Downtown Peoria streets will be restricted due to the Red, White, & BOOM! fireworks display sponsored by Choose Greater Peoria and i3 Broadband.
Drivers should exercise caution and patience throughout the day and evening. The use of alternative routes is advised, and delays should be expected.
9 am Parking Lot Closures
The Liberty Street Riverfront parking lot and the parking lot adjacent to Martini’s on Water will be closed at 9 am.
- The Caterpillar parking lot at Washington Street and Hamilton Boulevard will be only available for VIP event permit holders and persons with disabilities.
Noon Road Closures
The following roads will be closed and parking restrictions will go into effect.
- Water Street will be closed from State Street to Eaton Street.
- Walnut Street will be closed between Washington Street and Water Street.
- Harrison Street will be closed between Washington Street and Water Street.
- Liberty Street will be closed between Washington Street and Water Street.
- Main Street will be closed between Washington Street and Water Street.
- Hamilton Boulevard will be closed between Washington Street and Water Street.
During this time, the only traffic allowed in these areas will be vendors, exhibitors, 401 Water Street property owners, and Ameren employees. Vendors will be required to present their permit to enter the Riverfront. Vendor entry and exit into the Riverfront will not be allowed after 4 pm.
8 pm Road Closures
The following roads will be closed and parking restrictions will go into effect.
- Liberty Street will be closed between Adams Street and Washington Street.
- Fulton Street will be closed between Adams Street and Washington Street.
- Main Street will be closed between Adams Street and Washington Street.
8:30 pm Bob Michel Bridge Closure
The Bob Michel Bridge will be closed to BOTH pedestrian and vehicular traffic starting at 8:30 pm.
8:30 pm Interstate 74 Exit Closures
Interstate 74 exits 93, 94, and 95 will be closed starting at 8:30 pm.
