(PEORIA, IL) Sunday, July 14, 2024, at approximately 12:26 a.m. Peoria Police responded to the 2500 block of N. Sheridan on a report of people fighting. Officers were also alerted that one of the subjects was armed with a handgun.
While en route a Shot Spotter alert of three rounds fired occurred in the same area of N. Sheridan Road.
When
officers arrived, they observed a group of males fleeing the area. Police detained two of the males without incident.
During a search of the subjects’ police located a loaded handgun on the person of one of the males identified as 21-year-old Izaiah M. Haslett.
Haslett was arrested for Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon and Possession of a Firearm without a Valid FOID Card.
He was transported to the Peoria County Jail.
