(PEORIA, IL) Saturday, August 10, 2024, at approximately 11:02 p.m. Peoria Police were dispatched to the 200 block of N. MacArthur on a Shot Spotter alert of 12 rounds fired. Minutes later a second alert of 2 rounds fired occurred in the 300 block of N. MacArthur.
While en route officers were alerted that an adult male (34 years old) was located in the 1000 block of W. Adrian G. Hinton with a gunshot wound to his back. He was
transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Officers responding to the areas where the Shot Spotters occurred located a second male victim (23 years old) outside a residence in the 900 block of W. Third Street. He was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Members of the Peoria Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division (CID), Crime Scene Unit (CSU), and Patrol Unit responded to the scenes and initiated an investigation.
Officers located a crime scene in the 200 block of N. Saratoga Street. A discarded firearm was also located by police in the area.
This incident is under investigation. There is no suspect information.
