Previously Reported:
(PEORIA, IL) Sunday, August 11, 2024, at approximately 8:08 p.m. Peoria Police were dispatched to the 3400 block of N. El Vista Avenue on a report of two people shot.
When
officers arrived, they located two adult females with apparent gunshot wounds.
Both victims were transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Members of the Peoria Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division (CID), Crime Scene Unit (CSU), and Patrol Unit responded to the scene and initiated an investigation.
There is currently no suspect information. This incident is under investigation.

UPDATE: 8/13/24
During the course of this investigation, detectives identified 43-year-old Stevie A. Linwood as the suspect in this case.
Linwood was located on Monday, August 12, 2024, in the 2000 of W. Forrest Hill and transported to the Peoria Police Department for interviewing purposes.
Members of the Peoria Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division (CID), Special Investigations Division (SID), Patrol Unit, and a PPD K-9 conducted a search of the area where Linwood was taken into custody and located a discarded handgun.
Linwood was subsequently arrested for Attempted Murder (2 counts).
He was transported to the Peoria County Jail.
