(PEORIA, IL) Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at approximately 6:33 p.m. Peoria Police responded to the 900 block of N. Bourland on a report of an armed robbery in progress (A to Z Food Mart).
When officers arrived, they observed the suspect identified as a 17-year-old male attempting to flee on foot. The juvenile was quickly detained and taken into custody.
The
store clerk sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The suspect was not armed.
Members of the Peoria Police Department’s Special Investigations Division (SID), Crime Scene Unit (CSU), and Patrol Unit responded to the scene.
The juvenile was arrested for Aggravated Robbery and Criminal Damage to Property.
He was transported to the Juvenile Detention Center.
