Previously Reported:
(PEORIA, IL) Friday, August 23, 2024, at approximately 9:41 p.m. Peoria Police were dispatched to the 1900 block of W. Kettelle Street on a Shot Spotter alert of two rounds fired.
When
officers arrived, they did not locate a victim or suspects.
At approximately 9:49 p.m. police learned that a male juvenile (16 years old) was transported to a local hospital by private vehicle with a gunshot wound to the chest.
Members of the Peoria Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division (CID), Crime Scene Unit (CSU), and Patrol Unit responded to the scene where the Shot Spotter occurred and initiated an investigation.
There is currently no suspect information. This investigation is under investigation.

UPDATE 8/28/24
During the course of this investigation, Peoria Detectives identified a suspect in this case as 19-year-old Andrew M. Drummond.
On Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at approximately 1:00 p.m. Drummond entered the Peoria Police Department and turned himself in.
Drummond was subsequently arrested for Aggravated Battery with a Firearm, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, and Possession of a Handgun Under 21.
He was transported to the Peoria County Jail.
This incident remains under investigation.
