LEGAL NOTICE

ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that sealed proposals will be received at the Office of the City Engineer, Public Works Facility, 3505 N. Dries Lane, Peoria, Illinois, until 10:00 a.m., Thursday, February 23rd, 2023, for the proposed project officially known as the Public Works Facility – Native Plants, Walking Paths, and Accessible Entrance project and at which time said proposals will be publicly opened and read.

The proposed improvement consists of native plantings, walking paths, and accessible entrance/parking lot improvements at the City of Peoria Public Works Facility. The work includes the replacement of all turfgrass with native plantings, installation of proposed p.c.c. sidewalks and crushed aggregate walking paths, proposed stormwater detention/retention, removal of the front entrance sidewalks/pavement, and replacement with accessible walks, p.c.c. pavement, and permeable pavers.

All provisions regarding EEO, prevailing wage, certified payroll, and DBE and WBE requirements shall be strictly enforced. All work shall be in compliance with specifications and all state and federal laws and regulations.

Specifications and proposal forms are issued through the Offices of the City Engineer, Public Works Facility, 3505 North Dries Lane, Peoria, IL, Phone number 309-494-8800. Before plans and specifications may be obtained, contractors must be pre-qualified. Electronic documents are available by providing contact information (company name, contact name, phone number, fax number, and email address) in an email request to pwdropbox@peoriagov.org. All proposals must be accompanied by cash, certified check, cashier’s check, or a bid bond for not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid.

The successful bidder will be required to furnish a satisfactory Performance Bond for the full amount of the contract, with sureties, to be approved by the City Engineer. Compliance with the IllinoisPrevailingWageAct is required under this contract.

The City of Peoria reserves the right to waive technicalities and to reject any or all proposals.
