(PEORIA, IL) Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at approximately 8:22 p.m. Peoria Police responded to the 900 block of W. Johnson Street on a Shot Spotter alert of 6 rounds fired.
When officers arrived, they located two adult males down with apparent gunshot wounds. One of the males was pronounced deceased on the scene. The second male victim was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The
identity of the deceased victim, as well as the cause and manner of death, will be released by the Peoria County Coroner.
Members of the Peoria Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division (CID), Special Investigations Division (SID), Crime Scene Unit (CSU), and Patrol Unit responded to the scene and initiated an investigation.
