Previously Reported:
(PEORIA, IL) Monday, September 16, 2024, at approximately 7:03 p.m. Peoria Police were dispatched to the 2400 block of N. Peoria on a report of a deceased baby.
When
officers arrived, they located a baby that was unresponsive and not breathing.
The child was pronounced deceased on scene.
The child’s name, age, and cause of death will be released by the Peoria County Coroner.
Members of the Peoria Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division (CID), Crime Scene Unit (CSU), and Patrol Unit responded to the scene and initiated an investigation.
This incident is currently under investigation.

Update 9/17/24
During the course of this investigation Peoria Detectives detained the child’s mother identified as 25-year-old Andrea N. Luncsford.
Luncsford was transported to the Peoria Police Department for interviewing purposes and subsequently arrested for Endangering the Health and Life of a Child.
She was transported to the Peoria County Jail.
This incident remains under investigation.
