Armed Robbery

(PEORIA, IL) On Sunday, January 29, 2023, at approximately 11:45 a.m. Peoria Police were dispatched to the Bradley Police Department regarding an Armed Robbery that had just occurred in the 1800 block of W. Bradley.
The female victim told police that a male suspect approached her at the above location with a handgun and took personal items from her. The victim also told police the suspect ran south bound into an alley towards Fredonia. The victim was not injured.
Police conducted a search of the area for the suspect with negative results.
This incident is under investigation.

***UPDATE*** February 3, 2023
During the course of the investigation Detectives were able to identify a suspect in this incident as 24-year-old Corey M. Wofford III.
At approximately 9:54 p.m. on Thursday, February 2, 2023, members of the Peoria Police Department’s Special Investigations Division (SID) located Wofford in the 600 block of S. Western Street. SID and Patrol officers made contact with Wofford who was taken into custody without incident.
Wofford was transported to the Peoria Police Department for interviewing purposes and subsequently arrested for Armed Robbery and Theft.
Wofford was transported to the Peoria County Jail.
