ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that sealed proposals will be received at the Office of the City Engineer, Public Works Facility, 3505 N. Dries Lane, Peoria, Illinois, until 10:00 A.M., Thursday, March 2, 2023, for the proposed project officially known as N. Gale Avenue Resurfacing, at which time said proposals will be publicly opened and read.
The proposed improvements consist of the resurfacing of Gale Avenue from east of University Street to west of Sheridan Road for a distance of approximately 0.57 miles. Proposed improvements include: pavement resurfacing, ADA sidewalk ramps, concrete island replacement, pavement marking, and appurtenant work.
All provisions regarding EEO, prevailing wage, certified payroll, and DBE and WBE requirements shall be strictly enforced. All work shall comply with the project specifications and all state and federal laws and regulations.
Specifications and proposal forms are issued through the Offices of the City Engineer, Public Works Facility, 3505 North Dries Lane, Peoria, IL, Phone number 309-494-8800. Before plans and specifications may be obtained, contractors must be pre-qualified. Electronic documents are available by providing contact information (company name, contact name, phone number, fax number and email address) in an email request to pwdropbox@peoriagov.org. Please be specific as to which Project’s plans and specs are being requested. All proposals must be accompanied by cash, certified check, cashier’s check, or a bid bond for not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid.
Within 24 hours after the letting, the two low bidders must file an “Affidavit of Availability” Form BC 57 in triplicate. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a satisfactory Performance Bond for the full amount of the contract, with sureties, to be approved by the City Engineer. Compliance with the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act is required under this contract.
The City of Peoria reserves the right to waive technicalities and to reject any or all proposals.
