After a brief pause from this morning’s snowfall, snow has started falling again throughout much of the City as of 4:30 pm. Snow is expected to continue through the early evening hours. An additional 1-2 inches of snow are possible this evening.
Thanks to the efforts of the City’s Snowfighters and the break from the snow, the primary streets are in good condition and very passable. Extra caution should still be exercised as some roadways, primarily residential streets, may be partially snow-covered, and slick spots remain possible. With the snow starting again, please be aware of changing road conditions as you travel to your evening’s destinations. Drive slower than normal and give yourself extra stopping distance.
Public Works crews remain on 12-hour, around-the-clock operations and will continue to be until further notice. Crews will continue to treat the primary roads and emergency snow routes as the snow falls.
Snowfighters are prepared to treat residential streets once 2 inches of snow has fallen in the City and the snow has stopped. Once those two thresholds have been met, crews will begin entering neighborhoods and treating residential streets.
Drive slowly, stay safe, and have a great evening!
