Demolition to Begin on Fire Station 16 on Wednesday, February 26

Contractors for the city of Peoria will begin demolition of Fire Station 16, located at 2105 W. Northmoor.
The demolition process is expected to be completed in the middle of March. During this time, motorists traveling near the site should be aware of potential traffic delays, detours, and construction activity. Drivers are urged to proceed with caution.
“We appreciate the public’s patience as we take this important step toward improving our fire services,” said Shawn Sollberger, Fire Chief. “The new station will provide our firefighters with state-of-the-art facilities to better serve our community.”
Construction of a new Fire Station will begin at the same location once the demolition has been completed. The city is expecting the building to be completed by November 2025.
