(PEORIA, IL) Tuesday, February 14, 2023, at approximately 10:13 p.m. Peoria Police responded to the 4800 block of N. University on a call of shots fired.
When officers arrived, they were informed that an argument involving up to twenty people occurred and a shot was fired by an unknown subject. The group quickly dispersed and left the scene. No one was injured.
A short time later, dispatch advised officers of shots being fired in the area of Big Hollow and Creighton Terrace. While enroute, officers located one vehicle stopped on War Memorial and Allen Road with the rear passenger window shot out. Officers 
located an adult male victim in the backseat of the vehicle with a graze wound to his head. The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
During the course of the investigation officers located a second victim in a car stopped on War Memorial at Bacon. An adult female driving the vehicle told police that her vehicle was shot at, and her 3-year-old child was struck by a bullet. The child suffered a graze wound to the head and was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Members of the Peoria Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division (CID), Special Investigations Division (SID), Crime Scene Unit (CSU) and Patrol Unit responded to the scene and initiated an investigation.
Currently, there is no suspect information. This incident is under investigation.
