(PEORIA, IL) Saturday, May 17, 2025, at approximately 12:57 p.m., while on an unrelated call, East Peoria Police observed a vehicle wanted in connection with a retail theft at Jefferson and Kumpf.
As officers attempted to stop the vehicle, it fled at a high rate of speed. Police then terminated the pursuit.
During the course of the investigation, Peoria Police observed the vehicle at Hightower and Gwynn. While trying to flee, the suspect struck a vehicle traveling Westbound on Gwynn.
The suspect, identified as 18-year-old Daniah L. Richardson, and a passenger in her vehicle suffered minor injuries.
The driver of the vehicle that was struck and her passenger also suffered minor injuries.
All four were taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Richardson was cited for Fleeing and Eluding Police, Reckless Driving, No Valid DL, Improper Lane Usage, and Disregarding a Stop Sign.
