(PEORIA, IL) Saturday, May 17, 2025, at approximately 8:04 p.m., Peoria Police were dispatched to the 500 block of W. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive on a Shot Spotter alert of 11 rounds fired.
While en route, police were informed that a gunshot victim had been discovered at that location.
When officers arrived, they located an adult male (28 years old) with a gunshot wound to the leg and a graze wound to the stomach.
The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Members of the Peoria Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division (CID), Crime Scene Unit (CSU), and Patrol Unit responded to the scene and initiated an investigation.
Currently, there is no suspect information. This incident is under investigation.
